I am not trying to write a symphony just an alarm clock --- I am familiar with QB beep and wish to know the simplest method in FB of replicating that -- all I need is a rising tone ( like a siren ) .
Any help would be much appreciated -- ( I am using the latest bundled version of FB and IDE from the Von .)
Thanks in advance Ray .
The only thing I can think of is use your own sound file and the FMOD library. Tutorial here: http://www.freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php?...tUsingLibs

To replicate BEEP, you can use BEEP. This, however, won't give you a rising tone. I would also suggest just using a sound editor to generate the tone you would like and save it as a waveform audio file that can be played with fmod, OpenAL, etc.

u obviously not that familiar with QB BEEP if you think you're gonna get a rising tone out of it.
