I think I'd like to atleast give it a try....sorta trekky myself (collectors software CD, the Star Trek encyclopedia are all part of my trekkyness LOL.
most of my trekkie knowledge came from the star trek song to the tune of bohemian rhapsody :o :lol:

btw, what era are we doing? the tng era, voyager era, enterprise era or tos era? (i count voyager as different from tng b/c they're in a different quadrant of the galaxy. DS9 happens in the same place as tng.)

Voyager was launched to hunt the Maquis (Federation and Cardassian rebels) during the war in the later years of DS9.
When Voyager found it's way home 23 years after launch, the Cardassian occupation had ended and the war was over.
Current Trek serie end in 2378. There are no plans to continue further with the Trek serie for about another 10 years. Since the ideas are running out, they are going to wait for some fresh input into it.
This series would be run not here, but on my site when I get hold of the right software for it. Perhaps PHPBB would suffice for this first mission.
Now the plans: I will be Gamemaster. Since I have trainging etc at another site, I have experience in the field. I will designate those who volunteer to play a certain rank. This is of course open to discussion, and if Sumo Jo allows, can be discussed here, and if not, you know where!
Since we have nothing very large at this present time, I will play the part of all higher HQ ranking officers. These guys are generally silent, and you won't if at all hear from them much.
The ranks AND chain of command are as follows:
Captain (x1)
Commander (x1)
Leiutenant Commander (generally department heads)
Leiutenant
Leiutenant (Junior grade)
Ensign
Cadet
Other non-ranking parts, in no order:
Civilian
Star Fleet Marines (report directly to the CO)
Departments:
Command
Science
Engineering
Medical
Tactical
Intelligence
Now for those positions going:
All are vacant so far.
I have a ship design in mind, before the mission starts a detailed rundown of the ship will be posted online.
Now for those of you who wish to play, please tell me what department you wish to work in, other than command, and I will post you to it. Command will be delegated by myself. As a general rule to make things fair, A gamemaster cannot be Captain.

I was thinking of setting it late Voyager era, like mid 2370's. I have researched stardates and stuff, and will keep the sim to a strict stardate reference, placing the sim firmly into line with "reality".
For your characters, they can be any race you want, but if they are not canon, then you need to detail your race. You also need to detail your character, like it's age, history, name, etc.

You need to sign up to be a member of my forum. Then post in the general section under the topic named "Starfleet Acadamy". I will then add you to the list, and assign you a position in the department of your choice, other than command.
The available spots are listed above. If you have another spot to fill, perhaps we can arrange something. Like counsellor, perhaps?
The forum you will see after your added to the usergroup will be USS Inhibitor NCC-7574X. DO NOT post here until I have given the all clear.
