well, when i signed on my AIM account to chat to some friends, a pop-up showed up and asked if i wanted to upgrade my AIM.

so i of course did because aim doesnt work unless its fully upgraded on my computer for some reason, and when it was installing it, it said: would you like AIM services to install AOl Explorer? Of course being amazed at the fact that i'd never heard of the AOL explorer browser, i said yes, and when i went online, i was amazed at how similar it was to firefox, but it just has a side bar with things like: Favorites, Mail, Feeds, History, AOL search, and Channels.

yup, its pretty sweet, but its borders are WAY (and i mean WAY) to bright... :o 8) <<<me

and i dont think i'm going to be using aol explorer that much anyways, the borders are making me go blind due to the brightness... :lol:

AIM uses the OSCAR protocol. I'm fine using that. It's the same one that ICQ uses. But sheesh AIM stinks. I use GAIM. =P

I use Trillian to combine my AIM, MSN, YIM and ICQ account in one program. I prefer it a lot better than installing 4 ad-covered IM programs.

I'd upload a pic... but I'm stuck with 7.0, he's probaly got 9.0.....

and, ppl, its not bad.... it features alot of handy built in things for mail, downloads (tho FF's download manager stomps it), news, IM's, Chat boards, shopping guids, radio (I think they even let you get your own radio station), 20mb of free FTP space, lots of preset favorites for research, shopping, ect.... and it has a built in AIM and buddy list stuff....

the list goes on....

I could never use AOL's products, way to cluttered to apeal to my flavor.
