Here we go again.... Note on Rule and deadline changes... :wink:

Rules:
*Must be 3D art..
*Any editor that exports .3DS can be used
*3D files must be '$included: 'See list of extintions below'
*Picture of object and link to actual 3D file must be included
*Picture should be at max 500x400, jpg format*

DeadLine:
*Friday 26th (That night, GMT -5)

Challenge:
*Make a rim for a car.... Tire is not needed, this is for the rim only.. but if you want or have time, you can put the tire on...

3D Files You can use:
*Anim8or .an8
*Wings3D .wings
*3D Studio .3DS
*Nendo .ndo

Tips:
*Pretty simple again: Mine is a single piece cylinder with modified faces, and then all faces extruded as one for finial effect.... 2 sided material is also a plus when rendering... :wink: (Bolt was made separite, do note on that...)

i think im going to sit this one out. its a bit to hard for me.
Uh.... All you need is a cylinder, delete one side, then subdived the face on the other side, move the points to make the spoke shapes, and delete the faces that don't make up the spokes... Then group extrude all faces out to thickin it up some.. :wink: ....

That's a single piece method, if you did a multy piece it might be a lil harder... I think you can do it,. your mouse last week looked nice, and it won too... :wink:

Don't forget this challenge.... Its normaly worry when it lacks entries half way in, there is only 2 days left!!!!.... :wink:
hmm, it seems like a decent amount of work, and a tire rim just isn't that glorious. Nor do I know yet how to do that stuff with anim8or. I probably won't do this one. :oops:
r u kidding? I did that in like 20mins.... I thought by far this challenge was easy?...... As for anim8or:

Make your cylinder, Scale it so its shape like a rim, select the face you want to delete, after that, select the other side and use (Edit> Subdivide Face)...

Then, to sculpt the points so you get the faces where you can make a rim, delete the ones you don't want, and extrude all the faces left as a group so it thickins it... :wink:

Or you could make a cylinder, delete both faces, and block model the spokes and axel hub that will go inside it....

Interesting if I may point out, you wanted to have a 3D Car challenge? You do know that would also require making a Rim of some sort? The rims are a lot of the time, aids in what make the car cool... You wouldn't buy a Lamborghini with hub-capped rims found on stationwagons would ya?
