Linux users: Stop 'recuriuting' members like a freaky deeky cult
Windows users: If they like Linux, don't pester them like fricken missionaries
Apple users: Your operating system is no better than windows or linux now...so don't inflate your computer ego...

Something everyone should pound into their skulls...
And the VS battles still errupt.. Now PQBS is crossing with QBN....

You do know it won't stop until all parties stop posting right? Tongue

I know, but they should at least stop posting things like 'Join the linux revolution!' - it sounds like some weird ass cult. Or some bloated egotistic windows user dealing crap about windows...

1, but.. it IS some freaky deeky cult =P
2, =/
3, Apples are... so white.. and shiney... *Drools*

Okay. One thing I don't think you get (but you may)
Different OSes have different purposes.
I use linux because I program and run server daemons.
I don't use windows because I can do more on linux.

Windows
-Ease of use: Easy
-Uses: MSOffice and games
-Price: Moderate
-Comments:

Linux
-Ease of use: Depends on what you are doing
-Uses: Programming, servers, etc
-Price: Free
-Comments: open source,

Apple
-Ease of use: Easy (I think)
-Uses: Graphic design
-Price: Costly
-Comments: It's SHINEY!!!
Yeah, I know that - but you screwed up some things
1) windows is better for programming - if you actually want to make profit and have a lot of people play it
2)Macs aren't pricy compared to windows computers - $499 for eMac
3) You never heard of Red Hat Linux Have you? ($350)

1) Mmmm once again. Depends on what you are making. Programming is pretty broad. *stares at his linux with a bunch of programming languages that he probably won't touch for a long time, then looks at a windows computer*
2) If you want a good modern Apple that can do many things that Apples are made for. =P
3) Oh nooo a linux that costs money! Let's complain about it instead of getting another distro for FREE =D
That $350 RHEL is probably extremely hardened (doesn't crash, more secure) but that's not what is costing you the $350 (actually all that stuff is totally free) - it's the service and support, the disk set and manual, as well as guarenteed WORKING upgrades. The software may be free, but the top of the line service is NOT. It's intended for businesses. For individual people and their support questions, http://www.linuxquestions.org suffices.
Ha ha, that article is really being messed with, they should lock it:
Quote:Microsoft Windows advocacy

The illusion of the possiblilty of microsoft windows advocacy is believed to be an artifact left behind when the Flying Spaghetti Monster withdrew his noodly appendage after creating linux.
Hmmm. I'm logged in, but I don't see a simple way to revert that out.

EDIT: Ah, got it. Here, btw, is the page I found explaining how to revert vandalism. Please consider helping out if you see anything else like that on Wikipedia.
Red Hat is $45 according to linuxquestions.org...
Free distros...I had Debian - I liked Win95, 98, and ME better

Or it's free with fedora - http://fedora.redhat.com
Debian is really out of date (not really now but before it was). Fedora and Ubuntu are on much faster release cycles so you're more likely to get all your hardware to work.
