Where can I get this file? I installed FB14 with the IDE (which
I still haven't gotten to work), but I don't see the file anywhere
after install. The online docs say you can now use FORMAT$ with
FB but you need this VBCOMPAT.BI include file.

Where can I get it? And what's the story with the latest FBIDE?
I can't get it to compile anything, and all it tells you is
"compile failed" -- nothing like the previous version. Did I not
set up something correctly?

a bird told me to tell you to try jellyfish pro and to get the latest .15 "unstable "version of fb. also, you'll need to go to freebasic's sourceforge.net listing, and grab VBCompat.bi from the "CVS" there, in 'inc'.

Only pay attention to the latter section of his post, after the word, "also." :lol:

Seriously, I would stick with FBIDE because it's home grown, ya know? :wtnod:

All vbcompat.bi does is call two other includes, string.bi and datetime.bi, which require a static library packaged with FB. Here:
