Alright i was dlin a winamp key generator and i ran an exe (witch im kickin myself now cause i shouldve known that it was suspicuis) and i when it didnt opened anything i knew i was screwed. At first i noticed that my comp slowed a crap load down but i got that fixed by lookin at thru my task maneger in the processes and ended the highest ones. then in my sys tray a red circle with a white X appeared and starts poppin up with your system is infected with spyware click here to get it fixed. I searched for files that were created about the time (i think) that i ran the file and came up with a few that i found created at the same exact second and went through and deleted them but a couple of them i couldnt delete cause it said it was being used at that time.

Heres a pic of my sys trey with the popup:

If somone knows of this virus/spyware pleeease help cause this is gettin really annoying
so, let me get this straight... you downloaded a "winamp key generator" that would unlock winamp so you could illegally use the full version of winamp... shame.

Anyways, i suggest downloading a trial version of spy sweeper. update it and run it.

either that or download microsoft antispyware. It's a decent spyware detector.

Also, i'd suggest getting an up to date antivirus program. If your norton didn't detect the virus as it was being downloaded in real time, it probably means your antivirus is out of date or expired. I suppose you need to download a key generator for that as well?
Oh as if you've never five-finger discounted software, barok... Wink
The first thing I would do, is try a system restore... if you have it enabled. Another thing... From now on, if your antivirus program's virus definitions are suspected to be out of date, send the program to yourself as an email attachment before you run it, and it should let you know if it's infected. The Yahoo definitions are up to date. Wink

Never!

Actually, I use (almost) all freeware software. Avast antivirus, zone alarm, xmplay, firefox, msas, open office.org and more.

non free stuff is dreamweaver and photoshop. I installed them from school cd's to work on some projects for school, and i just haven't bothered to uninstall. Tongue
That thing affects all windows, the funny thing is that it mimmicks the typical info popup of Windows XP... and if you have Windows 98 (like me in my P120 where my bro 'caught' this nice trojan) it looks so strange

There's an exe around there, can't remember where. You can get rid of it with you last antivirus/ad-aware update, but if everything fails just run msconfig and check what's being executed on startup. The spyware thingo will show here or there, just deactivate it, reboot, look for the file and delete it.

It's just a tracking thingo, just annoying.
alright heres what i got running in the startup tab in msconfig If anyone notices somthing suspisus please tell me

ccApp
jusched
vixen
Logi_MwX
qttask
winampa
bxproxy
ctfmon

I remmber awhile ago when i had some troubles with MSN i called tech support and a very nice man helped me and even suggested several anti-virus programs and checked out my msconfig and IDed the bad ones
I've been wondering, what is: ccApp?

cuz when i log into my name, it brings my computer up to 100% :-?
and it also doesnt stop when i tell my computer to shut down, it just
says one of those: Ending program windows, and when the bar fills up,
it says the program isnt responding.... :???:
