I plan on starting a PDF file, a sort of instruction manual for FBIde. Any images, tips, demos are greatly appreciated Big Grin
Who's the target audience?
for fbide? how hard is it to figure out fbide? :???:
Any total idiot can use an IDE =P, and there is already a manual for the compiler...
Are you implying that I'm a total idiot  !!

Well, when I started, I had a lot of questions. btw, when you install fbide, it just throws the files on C: and puts it in your start menu. You have to search for the gfxlib info, GNU liscense, etc. It's easier to just put that all in one neat, little document.

I'm just sayin.
yet now you know how to do all that, so its obvious that you don't really need a manual. If you want to make one, it would probably be best if you and others who didn't get it made the tutorials, because I for one can't even imagine what to make a tutorial on...Install, run, code....
If someone can't use a very simple program like fbide then I dont think they belong anywhere near a compiler let alone writing a program in it. and if someone really cant figure it out, they could just ask someone.

Simple Idea:
1. Get freebasic(latest version) and install it to the directory of your choice
2. Get the FbIde and unzip it to the freebasic directory.

No need for such a simple program to have an install process...\

All you need to know is your programming vocabulary to use an IDE. Really all you need to know is Compile and run...
yeah i think a pdf is a bit unneccessary, at most a 1kb text for utter noobs

Not now he doesn't, obviously. (after the fact)

Not everyone understands things as deeply as you, speedlemon. I think you'd refer to these kinds of people as "noobs", but I'm not hip to the lingo.

Or read a manual. Really, from your attitude you're sure as hell not going to help them out, so who exactly should they ask?

I thought BASIC was the language for beginners, yet you seem want to push beginners away from programming altogether. Having a bad day, or are these your true feelings? What's the deal?

@ j2krei08 : A wonderful idea. Good luck with it.
