Well my dad is going to buy a new computer for less than 700 dollars probaly, with *shudder* Windows, any ideas on good computers?
Ya, get a computer with linux and steal windows. AMD Athlon processor and DDR RAM. Try to get a GeForce 4 at least. NOTHING LESS THAN 512 MB CONVENTIONAL RAM!

For US$700, I recommend
Athlon XP 1800+ (Aim for an Asus or MSI mobo, 333 FSB if you can)
256 MB DDR RAM
ATi Radeon 8500 (9700pro if you're big on games)
SB Audigy or Live (don't use the onboard sound, obviously)
Maxtor or Quantum HDD (be sure to get 7200 RPM)
LG 40x12x40 cdrw
If you're bent on getting an nVidia card, be very careful of the nomenclature. Just because it says GF4 on the box doesn't mean it's good. Get at least a GF4 Ti4200. But the Radeon 9700pro owns that card in speed and image quality, if you can afford it.
At any rate, that should all fit inside 700 bucks... it's all well-back from the cutting edge.

That is the proper term. I'm just balking at you suggesting that 512 MBs is the most important factor when attempting to build what's going to be a mid-range PC.
256 MBs DDR-RAM is about US$70.

You'll have to get a static IP if you don't have one, and it's kind of a bitch to set it up.
Anyway, get k-lite or soulseek instead of normal kazaa. They better.

it connected all the time and at least
