Hi, great idea Adigun, i used to love musicdisks/tapes back in my spectrum/atari st days.

Can anyone reccomend a good free tracker software? i haven't used anything but Jeskola Buzz in about 10 years, so have no idea whats good these days. I used to use trackers on the Atari ST, so i know roughly what i'm doing.
To yetifoot:

Here is a tracker I would surely recommend for creating some great music in Windows: Modplug Tracker, an excellent one with plenty of outstanding features that you will be amazed at, including full support for .MOD, .S3M, .XM, and .IT and *many* others. Hey, I have used it and used it well to help create custom instruments and percussion sounds for my own original musics (including those for the game Frantic Journey as well), even looped ones also!! Therefore, it has been one of my sure favorites since!!! d=Big Grin=b !

And I JUST found out something as I am writing this message: a version of Modplug Tracker is now open-source on SourceForge! No kidding!! :o ! Find it right here at http://sourceforge.net/projects/modplug, and it is licensed under the GNU General Public License, just like FreeBASIC itself. Wink

Thank you so much, yetifoot, and I sure hope this all helps now!! Cool

Awesome initiative Adigun,

I think this will definitaly your best one :-)...I for one will be keeping close track to see how things go :-).
I've been stumbling around MODPlug since this morning, and think i've got it figured out (great program, thanks adigun).

Now is the hard part, actually composing some decent tunes. I think i'm going to go old school beeps and squeeks.

See you in a few months!!
