Just a little bit ago I downloaded a n64 emulator and well it kicks ass. After playing several games my hands started buring and I realized that in order to play these games correctly i need the actuall controller. Well just my luck i ran into a site that sells usb adapters that can convert from n64 or ps1/2 controllers (link-sang if anyone knows of them). After about a day after ordering one i slapped myself in the head realizing i could probably make one myself. I found this site http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/80. Now to my question: Does anyone know any good tuts on how to do basic circutry. I know i already order it but it still wouldnt hurt if I knew how to make it.
Did you read the article?

It may be worth you time taking instruction from someone who can show you good practices and how to solder. (Pay for lessons, or ask someone who knows)

Many electronic shops like Maplin have basic electronic kits that can get you started. You'll probaly need some basic equipment like a multimetre (with probes) a soldering iron, knives and files, wire cutters, some sort of PSU etc. (you don't want to test your circuts by pluging it into your PC now Wink )

You were aiming for a usb converter but the site shows a connection to a joystic port (usualy on the sound card) but AFAIK most modern computers don't have this port. I know mine doesn't.

As for websites, I dunno.. google could help. But I don't know if using the web to learn to do a hands-on task is that clever an idea.
Yeah I already saw that comment but I figure if I try and learn it It shouldnt take to much time for me to learn how do to that. I already know how to solder, I have lots of the supplys for it I just need to learn how to do it and how it works.
