I had this idea a while ago and thought that it might be neat. But I want a little more input on it before I go ahead and do it. Some of you guys who were around the "QB scene" a few years ago may remember the "Qlympics." For those of you who don't remember it/didn't know it existed, here's a little summary of it (sortof).
Basically, the Qlympics was a big competition where you could submit your programs that had been made in QB during the past year to be judged in different categories such as RPGs, Action Games, Libraries, etc. You of course got to select which category your submittion went under. Then, after the submittion period was over (which lasted a few months as I recall), the voting period started where people could vote for the programs that were submitted. After the voting period, the votes were tallied and the results posted with the victors in each category feeling oh-so-special about themselves .
I was thinking of something similar just for RPGs. I thought that (if enough people had interest in it) then we might run it all summer, and have the voting period begin say... at the end of the summer. You would be able to submit your RPGs and RPG resources that had been made during the past year (or maybe two years since RPGs tend to take a little longer to make then most games).
I think this would be a fun event. Do you want to do this and would you participate? If you think we should do this, then do you think that it should be held off for awhile (say till the end of the year) so that people have more time to finish up their stuff? Any other suggestions?
