Dearest all of you QB45/QB71/FB community,

Hello to all of you this week.

A rather terrible thing had happened from yesterday afternoon EST: while I was working on my brand-new music there (and even dancing to it, too!), the Pionex 450mhz Pentium-III computer that I used all those years had all of a sudden blown its motherboard out, resulting in perhaps a dead board. And now that computer is NO MORE good! MAN!! Cry !!

I will tell you what though, I have had some *plain wonderful* times with you all and getting better and better as I went along!! Big Grin !! And people, just before the board was shot, I have backed up my AFlib2 documentation (VERY latest version!) and some of that other stuff, and also, me and my sister and grandma have been going over getting me a computer more powerful than that 450mhz one! Apparently, chances are likely that I might have that newer (and likely used) computer before the end of this month.

Also, since I am allowed on one of the other computers for now, there is a sure shot that I will update my site again to further let all of you know about the progress of AFlib2. And due to the fact that that old Pionex is shot, the release of AFlib2 will likely be delayed than expected..... but IT WILL MOST ABSOLUTELY NOT BE CANCELLED AT ALL. NO. Wink

When I do have a new computer (with cable-wire support for Internet access and all of that!), I will finish up AFlib2 and bring it out to you for official release. I promise you as dead-seriously as ever, folks! Cool

See you again, and I will be back in full force again. COUNT ON IT. :king:

WISHING YOU ALL GREAT HAPPINESS,

Well you definately need better than a 450 in this day and age...it was time to upgrade anyways. Big Grin
Sounds bad,... btw, how are you posting w/o a computer?

Anyway, good luck getting a new system....
To Rattrapmax6:

How am I posting without a computer? Well, let us just safely say that at least I am allowed at times on one of the other computers (which I use to write my posts here and stuff, which will at least hold me for the time being until I end up with a better computer of my own, really! Wink ).

I have backed up a whole lot of my stuff (including my site data!) already up to around the start of 2006, which is better than nothing, thank God! Big Grin And I will be in full swing again, eventually. Hang on and stay tuned, man! Smile !

Talk to you again as I get ready to plan my next AAP Official Projects Squad update on one of the other computers that I am allowed on for tonight.

That' sad AAP. I hope you get a Gigahertz class comp.
I'll be waiting. :*)
Hey, 450mhz computers aren't that bad

I use a 450mhz Ubuntu computer in my room,
and it works just as well as this 1.7ghz computer
in my family's computer room. Smile

Well, it may be because its a diff. OS, but whateva 8)
Wait, but if it was just your motherboard and not your HD, you should be able to just transfer your hard drive to a different case, right? Then you could just get the files off of that. That's what I did when RADIUM-V passed on (If I hadn't I would have lost the original source to my crappy DOS Bowling game that keeps haunting me at night).

PS to Mr. Match: Go Ubuntu Big Grin !
Spend the $250 on a 40GB portable USB Plug & Play Hard Drive, best thing I ever did. My computer has crashed many times but never lost any important data. Just a suggestion or a $60 Flash Drive.

Good job on backing your stuff up though, and I look forward to AFlib2.

That would be such a nice idea, but I do not know for sure about that myself or whether the hard drive is ok or not, sad to say. Sad ! My grandma strictly told me *never* to take out the hard drive from the broken computer and transfer it into one of the other ones because she does not want to risk it causing any fires out of that. I am sorry, but it is beyond my control at this point.

On the other hand, though, I can remake some lost music and stuff of mine from scratch since that awful crash (when I get a newer computer indeed). Don’t you worry. Wink=b !

And now, I go over to you, axipher:

You know, axipher, if you are talking about a brand-new external hard drive that supports a USB-based connection and Plug & Play, YEAH, that is such a marvelously excellent idea!!! I might wanna think about that someday... just not right now, but later on. Big Grin

And by the way, thank you very definitely for your finely good comment overall, man! :king:

Be seeing the both of you again, j2krei08 and axipher. Cool=b

I agree about the usb drive, but i prefer a thumb driver to a full blown hard drive. Yeah, even a 1.5" 80 gb hd is still cheaper than a 2 gb flash drive, but flash drives are nice in that they fit in your pocket, they don't need an external power supply, and you can take your work with you everywhere. I currently have a 512mb flash drive with more programs on it than the average computer, yet i still have enough room for some other small things.

Just thought of something as my mouse hovered over the submit button. Instead of buying a $250 external harddrive, why not just buy a case? then put the hd from your dead computer into the case and you can continue any work you began, and perhaps even release aflib when you wanted to. A decent case shouldn't cost any more than $30, $40 canadian. (1 canadian dollar = .88 dollars us.)
