"Who are you? Just who the fuck do you think you are? Do you realize who I AM!? I can have you arrested in minutes and sent to prison!" screamed Tom, fear trembling in his voice. But of course the mysterious caller was not moved.
"If you do not comply with my directions, every member of your family will be murdered. We have shooters targetting every single one at this present moment. Cousins, sisters, aunts, uncles, neices, everyone. If you do not comply, or if you contact the police, they will all die at my command," said the caller in a calm, monotonous voice. It was as if he had no typical emotions of a human.
"What do you want from me?" asked a fearful Cruise.
"You will befriend a young actress. You will convert her into Scientology. You yourself will make it well known that you are a Scientologist. She will have your child. Together you three will convince everyone in the world to convert to Scientology, or there will be painful consequences for them. And for you."
Just then, the phone hung up. Tom was terrified. As he sat there for a moment, a terrifying thought passed through his mind: would it be so bad? After this, he called one of his close friends and broke down crying. He was afraid that just maybe this mysterious caller was not bluffing. Tom's friend provided little help but much reassurance. But that was no good.
After hours of sitting in his house, he came to a disturbing conclusion: his life was no longer his own. Now, he would be a puppet. But it was better than the alternative.
Days later, he had invited a young up-and-coming singer to his house to discuss "her career". Soon into the date, he realized she was too young and felt guilty about attempting to steal her childhood and young-adulthood away from her. Who else, thought Cruise. But he already knew. He had spoken a few weeks ago to a very beautiful actress over the phone. She seemed eager to meet with him, though at the time this feeling was not mutual. I might as well give it a shot, he thought. What do I have to lose?
No, there is no more to this. It just popped into my head (the idea) for a few seconds and took me like 25 minutes to write it down.
