Full Version: Might make a really cheesy game!

A long time ago (I'm talkin' about like 6, 7 years ago), I made 2 games... One was a really crappy (yet surprisingly good for my at-the-time skills) Bomberman clone that had no enemies, and one level. The random placement of bricks in the level was flawless, the timing for bombs was pretty well calculated, and the overall gameplay was good for what I could do. I accidentally deleted this game forever shortly afterwards. Yep, it sucked.

Well then, later on, I made another small game. I got my stepsister addicted to it actually. You basically could jump, run across the level, and you had to make sure you didn't fall into a hole. It was a 0-enemies, no items, jumping kinda game. I think at one point I had gold bags implimented into it and you picked them up along the way... It was a side-scroller like Mario, but it was pretty cheap. When you reached the end of the level, you jumped into the last square and you proceeded to the next level. The coolest parts of the game were the scrolling and jumping effects, and the map-creation which (like my Bomberman clone) was flawlessly random. For the lenth of the level, there was X amount of tiles. Each tile was created simply with either 0, 1, 2, or 3 bricks on top of each other. If it was 0, it was a hole, obviously, and you had to avoid it. SImply enough, right?

I can't seem to recreate either of these goddamned games! They were so crappy and old and seemingly easy, but it's just not working... I'm considering actually taking the time to make a better version of the second mentioned game, but with GFX libraries and such... Who knows.
