:o Very nice Josiah. It's wellsuited and I like it very much.
Hey, this boss theme is quite nice! Good work Josiah! Big Grin
Alright, I'm not so sure about this one... I sat down to write the title screen song, but something very different came out. Whether it'll work is up to you, and I'll do something different if you don't like it, but anyway-- It's a short, minimal acoustic guitar piece made to sound like it's being played on an old record, which I think really helps the feel of it. I think it'd be really nice as a title screen song, but again, it's up to you.

Sorry, double-post... I dunno if anyone on this forum really cares anymore though.

Anyway, this isn't related to the soundtrack, just something I did for the hell of it.

Just recently I busted out the old Genesis again to play some Phantasy Star IV, one of my favorite 16-bit RPGs. My brother was watching me play, and after remarking how awesome the battle theme was (which was cool, I've been trying to convince him that it's a great game and that he should play it for awhile now :p) I decided to cover it.

Anyway, enough backstory, here's the link:
EDIT: Slightly updated mix can be found on the next page, or here:

I spent all day recording this one-- Most of it's played, but a few parts are pieced together from different takes because I'm nowhere near as good a guitarist as I sound in my songs. Wink

After I have been listening to the song for quite a while I do think it could be used for the titlescreen. It's cool in a strange way Smile.

And your PSIV remake is just plain awesome :king:
Alright, cool. Smile
Oh, and about the PSIV battle theme, I realized that you couldn't really hear the bass guitar at all (as well as the kick being a bit muted), so I mixed a new version:

Only small tweaks really, but for people first listening this would be the one to listen to.
Okay, so I tried to write a regular battle theme, but it came out WAY more intense than I intended. I mean, this may well be final boss material.

Give it a listen and let me know what you want to use it for, so if I can write a proper battle song if you think it's too intense for that.
Oh, it was intense :o . If I'm too use it then I have to use this as the boss theme and the original bosstheme as the regular fighttheme. And that's nothing I have a problem with Smile
Alright, if you think the previous boss theme isn't too complex for regular battles. I could always write a normal battle theme that's less intense than either of them, and you could use the original boss theme for bosses and the attempted battle theme for the final boss. Whatever works though. Smile
Quote:Alright, if you think the previous boss theme isn't too complex for regular battles.
Hm, you are right about that. It is a bit too 'epic' for the regulars battles so to speak. Your suggestion is good.
