Hello there - Kackurot - 12-30-2009

Saying hello to all my old qb buddies, if they are still around that is  Smile. Site brings back memories, I see you guys have a new IDE (qb64), last time I browsed here, there was FreeBasic. Anyone still working on win95 and using qb4.5? Anyway, saying my hellos. Hey Wildcard, is Relsoft still around??

Re: Hello there - Dav - 12-30-2009

Hi there -- welcome back!

Believe it or not I still have an old win95 machine with QB45 in a back room.  Haven't turned it on in several months though.

QB64 is an IDE for a brand new compiler that will compile Qbasic & QB45 code, and has some nice additional commands.

It's nice to see you around here again!

Yeah, nice to see things progressing on. Nice to see QB up grading nicely. I wonder if anyone has plans on making QB portable to consoles  8). Like QB360 lol Smile Haha, I might think of making a project like that, to get away from c++ and 3d engine coding. Anyway, so Dav, what have you been up to programming wise? Any serious projects?

Re: Hello there - Dav - 01-01-2010

Nothing big.  I've started a lot of programming projects, but never seem to finish them.  The only coding I've been doing lately is web design (working of 3 sites atm), and a few command line tools for some personal tasks.  Most of my personal projects are now away from programming, in the music industry.

I've found a few cool game making programming packages (like RPG maker, GameMaker) and if I can get enough time I'd like to try my hand at of of those and make an oldschool adventure game like Kings Quest.

Re: Hello there - wildcard - 01-15-2010

Hi, welcome back. Nice to see an old familiar name. Relsoft hangs around freeBASIC forums but not sure if he is still regular there, I think he has been busy.

I know SJ_Zero (I think) managed to port freeBASIC to Xbox original, I don't think he has been around since then though.

I don't code much these days except for some php/sql. QB64 is an interesting project. I'm looking at redoing the site to take into account QB64/freeBASIC.

What have you been up to?

Re: Hello there - Kackurot - 02-28-2010

been job hunting for a while, got laid of a bit ago. Just been writing 2d game engine using C++ that will work on iphone/windows/linux etc. Its called Spiral, been trying to make the code generic as possible by making the engine into components. Also I have been messing around with C# XNA, to learn a bit of C# since I might be getting a job using it. Other wise, I just play a bit of Quake live and other random online games. My tag is 'TheOne' in quake if you wanna look me up.
