i know we had a rough start, and i still hate "linear forums", but what the heck. this place is active. i dont need to wait weeks for replies.

The terrorists are basque seperatists fighting for an independent basque state/country. They're targetting the tourist resorts as this will hurt Spain the most - tourism is a hugely important industry to the country.

Bah, don't listen to those fu_cking terrorists. They are just dust. They think that killing will make them being respected, but they just are making a big ball of shit of themselves.
I really appreciate the cultural identity. Spain was built from a conglomerate of different kingdoms in s.XV-XVI, so there are important differencies between some regions and others. Some of our regions (autonomies, like states but a little bit restricted) have their own language.
May the "basque" people wanna be independent or not, but I think that killing is not the way to get it. And I feel really sad about the basques which are against all this killing. They live at the line of fire risking their lifes. Sad, very sad, and our government just sucks and doesn't make real progress to solve the situation.
But don't fear. Spain is still secure and a nice place to go. You'll get lots of fun, even more if you drink

Lol! 52ºC in Seville yesterday. I'm looking 'cause I live in a southern town where we have a nice beach. The Sahara winds are now winding over Spain, so expect HEAT. Traffic lights are melting, man
But there is lotsa beer in the bars. Bar culture, that's how I call it. Have a good time.
