Wanna read more about SCUMM, try this:

And why not check out AGI(Adventure Game Interpreter). That's Sierra's "tool" which they make their early graphical animated adventure games with (Kings Quest 1-4, The Black Cauldron, Gold Rush, Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards, Manhunter 1-2, Space Quest 1-2,Police Quest 1 to name some of the ones I like(d) ). The later Sierra games (still graphic animated adventure games, "Quest for Glory" 1-4 to name some) where made with SCI. Both AGI & SCI can be downloaded to use in order to make home-made games with. Cool stuff that's well worth the look.

I think Jocke lives for this legacy gaming technology. Look how much of a Rogue freak he is. Big Grin

I'm just a retro-junkie... even now (when I got a computer that can handle new games) I prefer some old games other then the new ones. I think that there were more "spirit" back then  Sure, every now and then I can enjoy to go on a "killing-tour" in GTA or Far Cry. Bit if I wanna sit down for awhile and just have a good time I would chose to play perhaps Kings Quest, Loom or Rogue...

Nathan: AGS is cool (similar to SCI it seems) but I prefer AGI since I like better when you had to type text rather then just point & click....but that's my taste....and it's never good

With AGS you can make any kind of GUI/parser, from Lucasarts' SCUMM to AGI or SCI, or custom ones. There are templates to create games in the SCUMM, AGI and SCI fashions, or you can code your GUI from scratch. That's why I told it was better: it's more general.

Hmmm....wasn't aware of that...I've played two AGS-games and they were both point & click based (and great funny to play). But now when I got this cleared AGS sounds to be the best. Thanks for clearing that up Nathan.

I belive it when I see it  Nah just kiding, just stay offline and DO NOT update your website, then I bet your new game will be ready soon and that it will "take the qb-community by storm". Good luck!
