My new project - Scrapyard - 12-23-2002

Hey everyone!

I started a new project again and I made a little demo of it to give everyone a bit of an impression of what this project will be like. It's a QB OS and I've got lots of plans for it.

So download it, try it and please tell me what you think of it...

Cheers
And happy xmas!!!! Big Grin

ps.
If the program doesn't start you might have to change the memory settings of the BOX².EXE file in it's propories window. Click the memory tab and set the value of Expanded Memory (EMS) to automatic. When using Win XP the program will run better when running it in Windows 95 compatible mode.

My computer doesn't support DOS SVGA. So while it does WORK I can't tell what's on the screen. It looks professional though.

Megaman, you can look for Scitech's Display Doctor.

I was going to try that a while ago to try that cool hardware accelerated dos mode, but at 10+ MB its to big for me.

I can download it because I have cable. But what does it do? Does it take over DOS or something, or is it a different driver? I just don't feel safe about downloading stuff like that because I don't want my PC to get all messed.

My new project - na_th_an - 12-24-2002

It just a software VESA driver. VESA is a kind of "Direct X" for DOS, and most GFX cards had it implemented in hardware, but it can be done as well by software.

It consists on a little program which you may run in DOS and which stays resident, allowing VESA modes to display. When you end your DOS session, it just disappears from memory Tongue
