QB Express #11 Now Available - Pete - 06-22-2005 The June Issue of QB Express is now available! This month we have a particularly excellent issue. For the first time in a while, I think that the Articles and Editorials are just as strong as the Tutorials in this issue. Matthew R. Knight brings us a funny and interesting personal narrative about "How [he] got started with QB", we have reviews of ASCII Scrolling Map Maker 1.0 and FB Sokoban, as well as a review of Astral Worlds in Lachie Dazdarian's new series "Searching For The Unknown". We've also got Project Updates on Qbinux, RapidQ & Legend of Aquarius, and an extensive preview of Syn9's The Griffon Legend in the gallery. Finally, there's an editorial by mennonite on flaming, a Where Are They Now? article about GBGames webmaster Gianfranco Berardi, and an interview with Sumo Jo by yours truly. As for tutorials, Deleter has brought us an extensive theory article entitled "Ecosystem Simulation Through the Use of AI", Moneo has created a spin-off of MystikShadows data validation tutorial entitled "Data Validation Implementation", dumbledore dishes the dirt on "Using WX-C In FreeBasic", and Pyrodap informs us on how he makes random Roguelike dungeons in his RMG Roguelikes tutorial. Also, MystikShadows has returned with the final two installments of his Professional and Commercial Application Development Series, Testing and Debugging and Installation and Integration. Plus all of the regular columns you're used to seeing every month -- News, Awards, Rattrapmax6's Comic, and more! A great collection of great articles -- that's what QB Express #11 is! QB Express #11 Now Available - anarky - 06-22-2005 Great work Pete, and great stuff from all the contributors! Just on the note of my bounceback article and your reply, Pete, I did'nt take it too much to heart. I understand where you are coming from in all aspects of the response. I did'nt imply that www.qb45.com had no content and never did. I was only saying that to the newcomers of the community, the place did look a little dead. But since it's facelift there "seems" to be a little more content. But then I never really looked through the test site being built. Only picked out bugs when I noticed them after it's release. Getting back to my site, the BlueSteel theme is starting to get a little annoying here. I am working on a CMS and learning PHP and MySQL as I go. I can show you a demonstration once I am satisfied with my progress. Also, there is a severe lack of comics in QB Express. This I intend to remedy. In sub-relation to the last paragraph, when the CMS is ready, I will announce the site address and send you an special episode for the magazine. For now, I will say no more other than keep up the good work! >anarky QB Express #11 Now Available - Pete - 06-22-2005 Sounds good. Make sure the comic is somewhat QB / FB related though. QB Express #11 Now Available - anarky - 06-22-2005 That was a quick response! I no sooner close the window after the post goes through and I get email! Heh. Well it isn't really. What few episodes I have finished already are not related to QB or FB at all. But then, by placing it in there, would it really matter? It was made by a programmer. Perhaps the QB Express issues could be programming related, if not QB or FB. Pete, you have a PM coming, regarding that. >anarky QB Express #11 Now Available - Jocke The Beast - 06-22-2005 Great issue...once again 8) QB Express #11 Now Available - Rattrapmax6 - 06-22-2005 Quote:Also, there is a severe lack of comics in QB Express. It seems I've forgot to email it to Pete. If anyone is interested more deeply(yeah, right) about that column check this article. http://kentauri.digitalblackie.com/aboutSFTU.txt You will probably have to download it and use word wrapping. Read about my comments on issues #9, #10 and #11 in the issue #12. You are sweating with horror already, aren't you? QB Express #11 Now Available - Radical Raccoon - 07-03-2005 That comic's actually funny, because it's true. |
