Quote:If I had something better than paint at this time I would... I'm getting gimp at this moment so I'll try that...

 Yeah, The GIMP is cool,. It took my logo I made in QBasic ages ago and really made it look cool:

Once you get used to it,. you can make some really cool stuff.. =) .. Just remeber to download the GTK environment tho or it won't run..

JPG's only lose quality if what you are using loses it, things like photoshop and pixia won't do that, Pixia even gives you control over the quality.

Anyway, here is mine:

I did it in pixia using good old blurring and smudging, then text.

My other one (in my sig) was done exactly the same.

I agree on the folder being too bright, you might want to darken it,
or perhaps put an outline or something...

Tip: When manipulating basic shapes, it might be a good idea to use
vector graphics, (inkscape is good for that, and free)

Simple and plain, immediately recognisable; I like it =) Use the Antialiasing like KiZ said and save like GIF (PNG is bigger).

Xteraco: your text annoys me.

Jpg is ALWAYS lossy.. however! you can set to 100% quality and get a lossless image.. ofcourse it would be just as big as the BMP you started with (provided you dont do a lot of single color large areas)

Really.. PNG or even GIF for sharp objects like logos..
JPG for photos..
Thats how it's done..

Don't even use JPG. Use TIFF...
