Here's a demo. Keep in mind that this is still in early development. If your video card doesn't support at least 3 texel units, it wont look as good, but it will run. Also, It's going to get optimized alot later... it really doesn't do much optimizing right now, but could anyone that tests it tell me the FPS? Thanks. Yeah... one more thing. When we have decided on the final code structure, the source will be included, but I'm afraid that it's a bit too sloppy at the moment. lol

Demo...

Cool! The only really glitch I got was the fences don't always render right...they just vanish...

I get 61 FPS with

AMD Sempron™ Processor 3400+
2.00 GHz, 512 MB of Ram
RADEON X550 Graohics Card

But controlling the Cart is hard ( could you add the option to make it mouse-based instead, please? Pretty Please? Pretty Please With A Cherry On Top? ) which sorta wrecked it for me...being so used to Mario Kart 64 & Mario Cart Ds' easy controls didn't help

It just turns SO sharply!

61 fps as well, Im guessing it uses vsynch?

And I would agree with TDJ, it is completely impossible to control O_o

But cool :)

I think it might be a problem with my browser... I tried opening it in IE and it worked fine this time.

The problem with fraps, is that your limited to 30 second clips (unless you upgrade.) May I recommend using ZD Soft Screen Recorder? I find it a fast free substitute. Unless your kart demo uses hardware acceleration... in that case, it's worthless. Tongue

I get 12-15 frames per second. Did I ever tell anyone that i'm probably using the most worthless graphics card ever? Tongue Anyways, The kart demo also crashes about 5-10 seconds into the race. Sad

Very nice - ran at a smooth 57 or so FPS throughout. The only complaint is the uncontrollability, as pointed out above... It felt about like driving on an ice skating rink with helium balloons tied to the rear bumper. Smile But besides that, it was excellent. Keep up the good work!

damn....my kart has a thing for that gate. I can't go straight for a nanosecond, rather the kart hits the gate and then proceeds to make out with it, only very relunctantly following my incessant attempts to get it off and back on track...of course this then only leads to it going to the other fence and repeating the above...over and over and over. Maybe its cuz it was running at 141 fps, it didn't look that hard to control in the demo.

I'm tweaking the performance of the kart now. I haven't had much time to mess with the nitty-gritty details, but there have been tons of complaints about this one... so Just for a temporary fix, I'll add some options where you can control steering spring, use the mouse, use a joystick, etc... Wink
