Windows Vista - Mech1031 - 02-05-2007 you can see into the future?! Windows Vista - seph - 02-05-2007 Conan can.... *in the year two thouuuuusaaaannd..." Windows Vista - GordonSweet - 02-05-2007 Thanks Guys. I must admit a wrote a couple of programs in 2 differnt Basics to RENAME a batch of files, such as after ripping CD tracks or transfering JPGs from a Digi Camera. I realized it was a good idea to use INSTR to check the path before allowing any renaming so as to block attempts to alter files in the Windows or Program Files directory. The programs will alternatively rename the files to all lower case excpt the first letter for uniformaty. To run Vista decently you need at least 1 GB or 3GB more if you want to use those fancy effects in Aero. Windows Vista - Mech1031 - 02-06-2007 1 gig of ram works very well with me. vista home premium. Windows Vista - seph - 02-06-2007 I tried Ultimate with half that RAM (before the Ultimate Extras came out ) and Aero was slow. But even without Aero, in Basic mode, it was still slow! It's all the background shit that makes it really slow, much more than XP. Stupid Vista and its backwardsness! Windows Vista - Skyler - 02-06-2007 Use Linux. |
