If this thread is about songs, can I jump in?
Are there any Armenians out there, or lovers of Armenian music?
I'm not Armenian, but the most beautiful song I ever heard was an Armenian song called something like "Saligne" or "Saligne Ankara". I understand that Saligne means flower, and Ankara is a city in Turkey. So it might mean flowers from Ankara.
This is a very old song. I first heard it 25 years ago in a Middle Eastern night club. This is like a mellow version of the Hungarian Rapsody.
P.S. Strangely enough, other favorite songs of mine were performed by a Frenchman of Armenian descent, Charles Aznavour.
Among his famous songs are: "La Boheme", in French, and "Yesterday When I Was Young", in English. This little guy could deliver a song like no one I have ever heard.
