Quote:You're confusing Britain with the UK..
And you live there.. pfft pfft..

Britain = The island..
The UK = The nation

i dont really get this? i know the differnece between GB and UK i say british because no-one says unitedkingdomish, and also because the point i was making is how differerent wales and scotland are from england in terms of law and customs, although i get wgere your going there is a lot of confucion ie:

from wikipedia

Quote:here is similar situation with the terms Britain and British, which are used to relate to the whole of the UK and not just the island of Great Britain. This usage is generally considered to be correct

it does all get very confusing though especailly when you start to think in terms of commonwealth, british isles and the differnce between GB and mainland GB.

then there are places like isle of man and channel isles that are not part of the uk, but we treat them as such

the other poster mentions the term 'mainland great britain' beacuse GB as a term can also include other small islands.

As far as i'm concerned I'm english and nothing else
EVEN MEN OF STEEL RUST.
