VB3 is great for small/intermediate projects or to learn. The EXEs are small and the runtime is around 256 Kb only. You don't need special installs that play with the registry or add more and more stuff to your WINDOWS/SYSTEM directory. Just the EXE, the runtime and the VBXs you are using. You put them in your app folder and go.

Yeah, how swell, I just had to download it and hack up a Breakout, which I call "Hare Krishna Breakout" for its spiritual nature:
