Never mind, I just tried it, and it worked.
mazing what fun you can have with old hardware, I'm currently using power adapter, engines from fluppy drive (along with some gears), engines from CD drive, along with gear and axels and stuf. Fans, Diods, and loads of cables.
I'm going to try and get a digital cam and take a pic of it. The model that is.
