k, ill try to replicate the bug and fix it... as for archers (and all units) then each have special movement, and attack capabilities.

im still working on a game manuall with screens and all, but til then this may help.

OOO Soldier Movement / Attack
=O= they acan only move and attack 1 space away, n, s, e, or w

==O==
=O=O=
O=O=O Archer Movement
=O=O= archers can move in the diamond formation up to
==O== 2 spaces away

O=O
=O= Archer Attack
O=O

Pike men move like soilders, but 2 spaces.
knights move like archers and pikemen, and have 2 separate attacks.

i will work on the game manual this week and post an html version on the site.
