The QBCPC 2004/2005 is 100% renewed and reopened!
#59
To all of you:

Long time, no see here. Let’s bury the........... no, LET’S JUST BLOW THE UGLY HATCHET 100% AWAY and just from here on out enjoy and accept the compo as is. Ohhh, come on now!! d=^_-=b !!

Quote:QBasicNews.com[/i], he replied in this thread. Within his reply, he posted this outstandingly convincing statement which"]We are programmers, we try to overcome any challenge even if the rules are not good enough to yourself. If there are certain rules blocking your thinking about what to make or program next, think of something else. That's *exactly* what Adigun wants to achieve, he wants to achieve Originality and stuff being created that many people wouldn't even have thought of. The only way to achieve that (hard) goal, is making the programmer think, not have him copy things he likes or he can easily do.

You know what, folks? Neo is EXACTLY correct on this one, as it is indeed my sole and fiery purpose of the QuickBASIC Caliber Programming Compo 2004/2005 that I am currently targeting after. I believe we all have argued and argued about my Official Entry Rules *quite past* enough already, ladies and gentlemen. I mean, I have just literally poured my VERY heart and soul out and dug in as much mercy as I can muster to change them since I first found out about the overly needless restrictions from between the start of the QBCPC Winter 2003 (first started during December 2002) and July 2004. Now, I have made them even much more fair than ever ( Big Grin ! ), all to encourage positive originality like it has never, EVER been done before, like I may have already said some to several times before. And, stop and answer me this: what is originality other than entirely treading the obvious ohh-so-familiar territory that has been used before several times too many in the area of QB game programming alone, hmmmm? I mean, people, please. :???: The rules are not (and *never* will be, too!) about what pleases you or anybody else (because then, if I were to change my rules to no more than just do that and that’s it, I would probably as a result of it end up cheapening my compo to something less than challenging or maybe even worse!), as they are there instead to help you more freely than ever experiment with and explore new and uncharted and utterly fascinating material and stuff in QB that is possibly WAY beyond the average norm of QB programming. I am talking about BREAKING THROUGH THE REALM OF THE ORDINARY here, you understand me now? And it all starts with getting creative like that, just by simply using your imagination wisely enough to do so. It is *that* easy. ;*) !!

Yes, we are humans indeed (like Na_th_an said! Cool ), and yes, we have computers, and yes, apparently most of us do use QuickBASIC/QBasic, but also, we can possibly overcome any QB programming challenge — regardless of ANY rule at all that any of us find uncomfortable — if we just *at least* try hard enough and REALLY put our own individual level-best efforts forward and put our minds into the full gear of all of this on a diligent, ongoing basis rather instead of just running, running, running, running, and going back to where we came from, people, especially when things become so hard and flat difficult for even many of us that are like “I JUST _CANNOT_ TAKE THIS ANYMORE!! :x ”, you know? In other words, the *only* way successfully out of a challenge is through. Period, end of the conversation. ^_^ !

It’s alright folks, we are having plenty of “encouragement”-based spinach here today. No harm done whatsoever, so relax. Big Grin

And look at me please, before some of you even start yet another pointlessly tired ( (z_z)=p ! ) “flame war”-based soap opera here or any else, I must go and venture to say that what I have just said here in this very post you are reading is the _absolute_ reason why the QuickBASIC Caliber Programming Compo 2004/2005 is called as the *ULTIMATE* QuickBASIC challenge indeed. No cheapenings whatsoever, no artificial flavors. Once again, if any of you do not like my new rules, then hey, you do not have to enter my compo. It is, after all, entirely up to you and you alone on whether or not you want to enter the gala. That is why there is choice. I’m not stupid. Wink

I have just made it all very clear now, and all that is without a doubt my final word. End of story. :king: !

Be seeing you once again.
