Eggs in Qbasic
#18
When Na_th_an first posted his question, on cooking eggs in QuickBASIC, I immediately imagined two eggs in a transparent pot (Pyrex or Fireking), with water, plus a nice, flickering fire beneath it. On one side, there would be a timer, probably digital, which started at some settable value, such as 13 (minutes), and the water in the pot would start boiling after, maybe, 3 minutes. Then, when the timer reached 0, a bell would sound, the fire would die down, the water would stop boiling, and a large sign would flash on and off, with the word, "HARD-BOILED EGGS DONE", or some such sign. The sign letters would vary, say, "SOFT-BOILED EGGS DONE" for a setting of 6 minutes, "TENDER-BOILED EGGS DONE" for an 8-minute setting, etc. And, I thought, soon, before I can even light the fire, someone will show all the above. All I have to do is just wait a bit...

So, I have been waiting patiently, but, seems as if no one has the inclination to write the code. Oh, well.
Ralph, using QuickBASIC 4.5 and Windows XP Home Edition and Service Pack 2, with HP LaserJet 4L printer.
