Strange program idea, but interesting
#1
I'd like to get some insight from all of you, if I could.

My school uses InteGrade Pro for their grading computer system. Right now I only know the QBASIC programming language and so my mind began "exploring" into the possibilities of modeling (somewhat) the InteGrade Pro grading program in Qbasic. I'm not sure yet if I want to do this (I need something to try to program over the summer! Smile ), as I would imagine it would be quite difficult.

The Qbasic version would be able to:
- Calculate grades based on scores, etc. (that goes without saying )
- Create multiple reports for a student (basic summary of their grades, assignments that are missing, etc.
- Enter student information (Address, phone, parent contact info, etc).

I think it would be quite interesting to create this. Keep in mind that I am no experienced programmer (yet!), and so it would have to be fairly simple programming (nothing beyond Qbasic commands)

I'm really just interested in hearing others? thoughts on how you would go about doing this, storing the information, etc.

It's a strange program idea/project, but like I said, interesting.

This is the link to InteGrade Pro on the web:

Thanks for any insight Big Grin

even if you come up with a grading AND scheduling system,

they'll never switch. just use the one that gets shoved down their throat.

such is bureaucracy.

I think the program is purchased and supplied by the county. You'd have to strike a deal. I dont know about your school, but most are rigged over a network, and share data. You'd have to make a program that communicates over a tcp/ip network, and then make it easier to load and use than the system in place. I dont think this is a job for qb.

which was perfectly workable. I even made a chat program. But you had to be logged on as the same person on two computers in the school.

I'm not looking for this program to be used in any school; I was just wanting to attempt to create a "look-alike" if you will, in Qbasic. Smile
