That is true, but there are ways around these poor mistakes (you forgot to mention that IE/WIN and IE/MAC have different interpretations). Have you guys heard of the voice-family hack, or the media="all" hack for NS4.X? They mean you can guarantee that a site will be viewed OK in all browsers if you use CSS1 (and even some of CSS2). Someone published a javascript fix for IE's poor support of fixed background images as well.
