I recently disovered that it's possible to make animated gif pics (as in logos to a website or whatever). As I've never been interested in neither painting or animation I would be happy if someone told me how to make my own animted gif-logo-pic (and that without mocking me too much)
uhh..I have a shareware version of PSP...very dusty though 8)

I think psp 7 has an Animation Studio or something similar... it allows export to animated gif, AVI, etc. You just add the images you want in the proper order and - voila - instant animation.

I use gif construction set for everything. It's a really easy to use program, despite its age.

Photoshop comes now with Imageready. You can do really cool effects with it. I have to explore it, though. I've only managed to do what I did with that GIF construction set ... I need more research.

Photoshop 7, the animation program that's also by Adobe (forgot the name) and a few months of experience with both is all you need to make kickass graphics
earn.

No.
However, that "now" Nathe mentions is since Photoshop 5.0.
1998.
Now. :-?
BTW, some tutorials and links of interest:
http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/imagereadyani/
http://www.agag.com/forum/, and
http://www.home.eznet.net/~stevemd/animinst.html, this being pretty complete.
I'd refrain from making an animated avatar, considering that some people here suffers the
"explorer-loads-the-images-first-and-then-the-content" syndrome. Animated GIFs compression scheme usually yields big file sizes.
