geometry problem!

well this is for my game. I don't know, what I am messing up, maybe my formula is correct, but I just don't know.

I need a nice formula to convert (x1, y1) to (x2, y2) given x1, y1 and a. It would be even better if the reverse formula was given.

uhh, sry bout the last comment. i should have tried the root first, but i was in a hurry doing something. i'll try it now.

EDIT:

ok, seen it now. still have no idea how that would work.

x2 and y2 are reversed, oops. but it doesn't make a difference.. i'll just swap 'em.

line segments. does x2 bisect the...uh...line with no label that it intersects thats not at the center of the figure? if so, I think this can be solved...however...the problem is not quite clear.

x1 and y1 are the blue lines and they are perpendicular and parallel to the screen, and so are the yellow lines. Smile

And points? You don't need points, just lines.

The black horizontal and vertical lines are 2a and a.
