UPDATE: I found something really old, under a zip called 'asteroidx.zip', which appears to be (as the title says) an engine test demo. as for the versions you mentioned, i think because you named all the zips 'xgmae.zip' i let it overwrite because i'm lazy. otherwise, i almost never delete stuff.

What are the file names of the downloads?

Probably I have them. I'm the same as toonski, I almost never delete stuff - especially QB files downloaded - I just burn them to CD's.

Hmm...I've found a 62.8k astoroidx.zip file containing xgmae.bas source, but I can't seem to find a version number for it in the code, nor is there one reported when playing. This must be the first version.

the rest should be xgmae.zip (i think)
just rename them according to version

Oops...I misspelled it too.

I've searched five cd's here so far - no xgmae.zip yet.

I'm thinking it's probably on one of the cd's I left at my family's house when I moved out, so I'll have to wait a little while before I can look on those. I still have some more here to examine.
