Pure QB gives newbies a chance
But I'm thinking the next QBNZ compo won't be pure QB. Do you have any idea for a compo that would encourage people to use libraries?

i]"I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum ... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?"[/i] - Dirty Harry

No, what I meant was like a competition that you can do without libraries but is easier with them. So for example a graphical demo (faster with UGL). But graphical demos I'll leave for a rainy day, so I need a better idea for now.

That's cool Joe!!!
Re: using libs...
I don't think having a challenge here using libs is a very good Idea, I mean I could change that render in ASM and it would run full speed. And I believe the point of these challenge posts is for the algo itself. To be able to understand the mechanism behind the effect. Usinf call absolute would blur things out.

So to sum it up rel, it should be slow for lots of points? Nah, i was was thinking any language/any lib or no lib, make the biggest baddest demo you can. The point being let the imagination be the limit and not a language. Like the real demo scene.
oship me and i will give you lots of guurrls and beeea

Yeah, like the way with game consoles. Plug and Play. PC: Plug and pray. But yeah a new democomp is a good idea. ;*)

But just not at QBNZ where the focus is QBasic
I'm thinking of ideas, but I like Rel's way of describing it better: the algo, not the dressing.
