has anyone even seen the real engine?
rel might be referring to the raycaster they released. It was "pure qb", and actually very fast on old computers (even though it was just an angled wall demo that doom could outpower).

The first release, where you had curved walls around a castle like place, and dark environment, was definately pure QB! I think they used BLOAD cached images for the double buffering, and they might not have used a pure QB keyboard handler. That demo was awesome, you could even change the texture resolution on polygons to speed it up, or make it look better. It had a semi-transparent console which really looks neat!
Then it had a semi-transparent 2D map which kind of asks the question if it is a raycaster. I know in Quake, you could go under or over things like bridges, other floors, and go under water. I think the newer subshock engine was showing screenshots of where it looks like you can go under and over places. Does anyone else remember that?
So I guess subshock isn't going to be multi-player in QB. That's alright, single player will do and it will still rock!

I wouldnt get your hopes up. That demo was released 4 years ago and those screens were released 2 years ago.
I liken it to US1, a state road where I live. One part is under construction, and by the time they finish re-laying the road, another part breaks down. by the time they fix that, the renovation is worn down and they start fixing back. They're working on it, but you know it will never be done.
I think Pasco and Leroy are moving on to other things, sad to say.

well I can't find anything other websites dedicated to subshock, so I take it they're not working on it at this moment. They're probably taking a break and still developing it. Maybe they want to be discrete about it. Who knows, maybe they're building up a suspense.
It doesn't make sense for them to discontinue subshock after all that awesomeness I saw in the screenshots and all the talk on their message board. Since I don't see where they said they would discontinue subshock, that leaves room to believe they meant for subshock to get done.
Whether it be pure QB, asm, C, I'm sure they have their reasons, and base it on QB. Who knows.

MIA? What does that mean? (Sorry if I'm not familiar with this, esp. if it is common around here)
