PHP vs. C/C++

well... if you want to make cool websites learn PHP if you want to make cool programms and games learn C++

I dont know what you all are arguing about. C++ and PHP are totally different languages in totally different situations doing totally different things. The only common thing between them is that PHP's syntax is based off another C-based language (Perl).

PHP is used for the backend work of websites (e.g. database retreval and page generation). It's automatic, there's very little interface with the computer itself, even more so than other CGI languages. It's an interpreted script.

C/C++ is an actual computer programming language, not a script. They run on your comptuer, you can make games or applications or just about anything short of what they use PHP for (xitami be damned).

This shouldnt be a topic. You can consider "Perl or PHP" if you want to delve deeper into web programming, or "C or C++" if you want to stick with computer programming, and it's not like it's hard to learn both.
