I get the message
Illegal function call when i do a line like this
line (50,40)-(44,21)
what is wrong...

Make sure that you're not in text mode. If you didn't write a SCREEN command at the top of your program, do so.
I recommend SCREEN 13. Just type SCREEN 13 at the top of your program, before the LINE command.
f only life let you press CTRL-Z.
