#1
After 3 long months, a new finished QB game arrives on the scene. It's called TANK, or Tactical Armed Nuclear Kombat. Try it out and tell me what you think.

Hey, way cool game! Reminiscent of some older tank fighting games, though certainly improved. I love the power ups and the rotating turret. Haven't got a chance to play two-player yet and test out the joystick routines, but I will when someone comes around. (I'm like one of a handful of people left in the dorms here over the summer.) The display at the bottom is very cool, as well.. especially the realtime accuracy counter. Smile I'm kind of wondering why you decided not to do collision detection of tank to tank, though I imagine you have your reasons. That's really the only problem I could see. I'd love to have more music than just the intro screen music. What if that song carried over to the main menu and then you pumped us up with fight music when 'k'ombating? ;-)

Nicely done tank game!

I'll echo what Ryan has already said. Good status bar at the bottom. Gameplay is smooth. (only tried it with one actual player though, so I got to kill myself and still win -- thanks for that).

Like Ryan, I also would suggest some kind of music to spice the game play up. Something repeative like on the Terminal Velocity game, that won't take away from the shooting sound effects.

Yeah, I also noticed the tanks can run through each other. Guess you have a reason for that right now. Sometimes when a tank is hitting the corner of a brick wall there's a little tank jiggle going one - not much though.

Great work, and sharing the source is nice. I like tank games, and I'm sure this will be fun to play with someone. I have a joystick, but it's not hooked up.

Nice game, kiddo. Same as my two pals have said. And also congrats for releasing your code. This is something that everyone should do, specially speaking of QB code.

Congratulations to a well-made and funny game! I liked to play this game and I bet it will be even more funny if you played it against a friend. Agress with Ryan, Dav and nathan but not on the music part... I think soundFx's works well and don't think u should add music when the playing.

Once again, congratulations Smile

Well, thanks for all the compliments. It's my first graphical game I've made. Rel: Yeah, I used the almighty powerful Af.Lib. I used it because I wanted to have pure QB code, but I ended up using a few functions from various libraries. As for the music, the same guy that wrote the killer intro music didn't have the means to write some more. But if there's anybody out there willing to write some music, maybe about 5 short beats, and 1 menu beat, then I'll gladly put them in the game, as well as your credit. And to make the tanks collide was a difficult task I wasn't able to do because of the way I coded the engine. Oh well. My upcoming game will be a vertical shooter. I have a sprite artist that I'm currently working with, and the guy who wrote me that music will write me some more songs. Thanks for the replies.
