That's not true... I wrote ay wonderful essay.... I had awesome recommendations...... I went for an alumni interview... but unless you're in a minority and/or you have 1600 on SAT (SATII is quite possibly inconsequential), forget about MIT.

My current university is close to $40,000 a year... it's not really 40K because you get financial aid from the uni for half (only first year students get half... it's a dirty trick... now I'm paying more)...

Yeah.... so it's more like $26,000 a year.... it sucks...

And...... you don't get scholarships from gov't//other groups, unless you are REALLY REALLY REALLY poor /andor/ get lucky /andor/ or your parents are friends with people involved in giving out the (local) scholarships....

Actually, I got enough scholarships from the college, the government and other groups to pay for all my tuition, room and board, fees, books, food, and then some.

Neither my parents nor any friends were involved in the scholarships. I'm not poor, I'm not a minority, and I'm not handicapped. Tongue
