help with my rpg please

ok. im gonna try and explain what i want.

can you guys either tell me of a good tutorial to help me with this help me urself.

i want know how to make a grass, water, tree, sprite tile etc and save them. then i want to be able to make my levels/ towns for my rpg just by doing something like this.

tree = 1
water = 2

DATA 1,1,1,2,2
DATA 1,1,1,2,2
DATA 1,1,1,2,2
DATA 1,1,1,2,2
DATA 1,1,1,2,2

i also need to know how to put my sprite into that.

can u explain to me how to do what i wanted to after i have made my tile in 256

2. Read some basic tile tutorials.
3. Download and read Rel's Zeldaclone.
4. Try and fail, try and fail... ask for help then.
