What, you expect producers to read consumer's minds? They just come out with whatever crazy product they can think of, and the fittest survive. I mean sure, there's a lot of waste (that picture is a perfect example), but that's the error part of trail and error. That's how a free market economy works. In the end, the products that people actually want (ie are willing to pay for) are the ones that keep getting produced.

Capitalism works to make three classes.

The domineering rich class, full of lucky bastards and really smart businessmen... and of course the oil grubbing Texans.

The middle class, the one that pays most of the taxes and produces almost every product we have.

There are lots of places, organizations, and government programs in the US that poor and homeless people can go to for help. There are lots of opportunities for affordable higher education too.

Yeah, one thing that I do not like about america is the tax system... all these loopholes designed so that lobbyists of the current government and rich people pay very little tax... If everyone got taxed at a flat rate then the middle class would be happy, cos they'd pay less, and don't forget that on voting day even rich people have only one vote.
