Help with Qmidi
#1
Two reasons why I am posting this. One, because I was making a game and by far it was the farthest I've ever actually pushed myself to doing... but the best thing about it is the music used by QMIDI. But, now since I used an older version of QMIDI, I don't have the UnLoadMidi function so I can't unload the midis, which causes the game to crash right around the first cave (RPG). So, I was wondering if there was a simple way to swap QMIDI out with a newer version without a lot of headaches :barf: .

Second is this is my 200th post :king:

You can get the last version of QMIDI off my site.

Bear in mind that QMIDI doesn't work with a lot of soundcards (like mine!) so you might also want to consider UGL modplayer, or DS4QB2/++ if you're happy to run through Windows.
In a world without walls and doors, who needs Windows and Gates?

Oh well. I guess I could just start over on my game... I have found out more efficient ways of coding since I started it. Too bad Qmidi doesn't work in XP... since I got my new computer I've tried to use it but it doesn't work. I guess I'll just have to use my old Packard Bell :-D

BWSB is also a good choice.

Yes, indeed very nice NovaProgramming... Wink

As for the Sound, you can use BWSB, DS4QB++ (or ver. II), UGL MOD, or any other lib containing sound routines.l

Tips? Well, if you're running through windows or have a PCI soundcard with a high IRQ, use DS4QB++.
If you want a fast sound-reaction, you can use BWSB, but this takes EMS and you should be careful with this combined with other EMS-Using libs/programs like DQB.

BWSB does not require EMS, it just uses it if it's available...
