Which feature(s) do you need and which could be left out?
breakpoints
QB's Immediate window
context sensitive help
Windows IDE (vs text mode)
etc...

I *need* syntax highlighting
If you want a wishlist:
syntax highlighting
looknfeel of a text editor
inbuilt support for EMS, XMS (if that's possible)
can include multiple, seperate libraries (if that's already possible, how do you do it?)
Probably some other stuff too. BTW, do a search on this forum and look for the topic I think Agamemnus started, asking about an improved IDE.

oracle: It's protected mode, so XMS/EMS is unnecessary. It will allow more than one LIB file (it won't use anything like QLB). Syntax highlighting I'll do.
Plasma357: Yeah I've seen that, but I want to write my own, maybe with a few features that MED doesn't have, like context sensitive help.

There's also protogui, you can get it from
http://fsoft.cjb.net. At least I *think* that's what it's called...

That was more in reply to Oracle than Sterling, since it has everything he listed. (Although MED does have context-sensitive help, you just have to set it up...)

Really? Cool! Would it be legal for me to distribute a preconfigued version of MED with my compiler?

It's shareware, so it should be legal as long as you don't distribute registration keys along with it.
