and QB don't really match...

Moreover, if you get an overflow at this very first stage of the prog, there's little chance your OS can handle the rest...

More seriously: I never compile my progs; I wouldn't work with QB if I wanted to. The main advantage of QB is that you can run without compiling: who cares about saving 2 minutes for a pic that took days to design and that takes tenth of minutes to render ?

I admit optimising is fascinating... I did that during summer. But it takes a longer time to optimise the prog than to prog it itself!

The only "real time" oriented prog I made is TC-Draw: Antoni Gual, who is the real expert at optimisation, tought me a lot about that, and made me reconsider my approach of progging: as sais before, my progs looked more like maths scripts than like progs...

Thats not the point...its just that i was getting an overflow at 2^15 (65535) for some reason...its not working in win98 either...isnt 65535 the max space for an integer...

i sed compile because it can solve problems sometimes, and speed is something noone should complain about Tongue

Try with 2^14 as a max limit: it's not used in the prog anyway !

d/l = Download.

I was wondering if you were providing a demo of your prog which generated those wonderful pics =).

Well, yes, I will post that soon... The code is a draft as for today, but it will be downloadable from the page I will write about these fractals. It's just a matter of time !

I can post the code if you wish... But an exe without the code would be almost useless, since I did not build any user interface: I change the parameters by hand from one pic to another, as in almost every prog I do.

You know I hate posting draft stuff, TBBQ: so that' only because of your request...

You have to download the TC-Lib and/or TC-Bmp to make that run anyway... You'll find them in the TC-Ray zip which is on my site. I think you'll manage with the modular stuff (.bi, .bas)

(case sensitive links)

I checked the progs : they do compile, at least with TC-Bmp

<edit>I assumed you already downloaded TC-Ray. If not, go to the corresponding page on my site (QB section, left menu)</edit>
