Why would there be a halo around it? Are some rays of light getting bent down toward the equator or something?

I'm studying physics: In the centre there's a black hole (At least they think there's one and its HUGE!), around the centre float Another HUGE amount of stars (High density, lots of double stars) at tremendous speed, therefore there's comming so much light out of the centre..
xpect to see some great stuff from us...
