Apollonia fractals with QB
#1
It was an old project I had in mind... Well, it's done !

Just as a proof it's not 100% necessary to switch to the C stuff  Big Grin :bounce:

My next picture project is also an old idea: the Moebius strip...

Ninkazu, I made this curve last year : it was one of my very first progs, actually.

You can get it from the fractals section of my site, in the Screen 12 page:
http://mandelbrot.dazibao.free.fr/Programs/May.bas

It's a debutant subject... but the Feigenbaum's constant which is revealed by this curve is one of the most mysterious things in the chaos and fractals domain.

You can check the "Quest page" on my site if you want another mystery: the question was opened last year, and noone could provide an answer since then...

The only difference is that Sierpinsky's triangle ( http://mandelbrot.dazibao.free.fr/Programs/Flowers.bas ) originates in Pascal (the french philosopher and mathematician)' s triangle, and came back to the scene with fractals, while Apollonia's (the greek mathematician) fractal originates in Soddy's circles, and came back to the scene with fractals.

Difference 1: Pascal was french, Apollonius was greek. French love women, while greeks, like british, are supposed to be basic queers.

Difference 2: Pascal was a philosopher. Real boring man, but I got a good mark at my french exams thanks to him

Difference 3: Sierpinsky's triangle is an IFS fractal based on linear transformations, while the Apollonia's fractal is based on tangent circles stuff

Now the question is : who was Soddy ? A queer, a mathematician, or a philosopher ? Did he prog with QB, Pascal, or C++ ?

Nota: Pascal did not prog with Pascal, but he invented an amazing mechanical calculator...

hmmm, so that explains why I left England and moved to france!

originally I thought it was because of excess british tax on alcohol and tobacco.
