Since it is in no way possible with Javascript, is it possible with VBScript?

only if vbscript works server side, not client. i have no idea what the hell vbscript is, though.

You can use VBScript just like Javascript. The first time I saw it was here:

(under construction)

The first time I heard of it was in an argument in school. I said VB was non-internet, he said it was internet. :bounce:

it's just a scheme to get more people hooked on a microsoft product, like asp. i remember it being around but i never remembered any specifics. If it is client-side, I wouldnt use it, as it's a microsoft invention, a recent one at that, so therefore it should only work on a recent version of ie, which is stupid.

VBScript is just like JavaScript but using VBasic instead of Java. It only works on Windows machines, AFAIK, so it is not a good idea to use it.

You can look for a free host which allows PHP. There are plently, if you can cope with the ads Wink

:x I think I _will_ write that angry letter

Some ads can be slightly.... erm... "disturbing" if you know what I mean...

hmm, my list wears thin....

How about Server-Side-JavaScript? I heard about it somewhere, and that it has a tag called <SERVER> or something like that?

I did a little research. SSJS *can* edit files, the trick is (1) compatibility and (2) seeing if comcast supports it...

hmm, as far as i can recall that was a netscape invention. you also need a special server which i doubt they have. why can't you parse the qbnews headline page source with javascript?
